Hello eveyone,

My name is Melissa, and I served active duty in the Army from 2001-2005. I was stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY with the 101^st Screaming Eagles. In 2002, I deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan and then to Mosul, Iraq in 2003.

I have been working for Organtica since they opened their Silver City location earlier this year. I am a strong believer in the healing power of cannabis. I have seen cannabis help heal both physical and emotional wounds. As a vet, I am troubled by the statistics on suicide rates, opioid use, and homelessness among veterans. I am deeply saddened that so many veterans are suffering in silence. Cannabis provides relief from a wide variety of symptoms associated with post traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, and chronic painful conditions. I know that cannabis is not necessarily the answer for everyone, but for some of us, it gives us our lives back. This Veteran’s Day I want to thank all my fellow veterans for their service and I hope you will stop by Organtica on Monday for a free pre-roll!
